New trees in our parks

HWIA Improvements

New entrance signs and more . . .

In addition to the regular maintenance of our open areas, gardens and ponds, the HOA resolved the following issues:

·  Rebuilt entry pillar toppled by a vehicle at the Hawthorn Drive Entrance

·  Replaced Lighting Fixtures at Hawthorn Drive Entrance

·  Removed several trees damaged in storms

• Replaced the broken bench at Teardrop Pond

• Repaired all four benches between Little Hawthorn and Big Hawthorn Lakes

·  Replaced the entry signs to our subdivision at Lagoon Drive, Circle Drive, and Hawthorn Drive

• Repaired grass area off Lagoon Drive by the ponds. The Village ordinance now does not allow parking on either side of Lagoon Drive by the lakes.

We established new subcommittees:

·  HWIA Common Area Beautificaiton Committee

·  HWIA Fundraising/Community Involvement

Please let us know if you are interested in getting involved. We need your help!

Lake County, the Village, and some of our board members have coordinated a new tree planting program to replace the old willow trees in the park along Lagoon Drive. 15 varied species have been planted and will be maintained by Lake County personnel. In addition, 13 new trees have been planted in the Circle off Old McHenry Road. Both areas will be maintained by Lake County for 2 years.
